Advent Altro go up against the MacBook Air

The MacBook Air, while being a very svelte and slim notebook, does have its shortcomings – among them, a very high price tag. Well, UK retailer Dixons has plans for the upcoming holiday season by revealing the Advent Altro which will go up against the MacBook Air size-wise, featuring a 13.3″ display, an Intel Celeron processor, 3GB RAM, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, a multitouch-capable trackpad and fingerprint reader, an integrated webcam, a 120GB hard drive, HDMI and USB 2.0. All of those are packed into a chassis that measures a mere 21mm thin, tipping the scales at 1.6kg. All of that can be yours for just £600, whereas the starting price for the MacBook Air is £1,149 in the UK.
