How times have changed – trust a Finn (Jani Pönkkö) who are famous for their cellphones to turn an old Mobira handset into a computer chassis. This 40-plus DIY project hailed the days where cellphones were in fact, as large as your regular briefcase – hence not being able to fit into any pocket! The handset itself has been installed with a Wi-Fi card, a sound card, a speaker, status LEDs as well as a 128 x 182 OLED panel. As for the main unit, that segment is used to hold the motherboard, monitor, relevant connectivity ports and a 32GB SSD for storage purposes, while both power and USB cables are able to reach the main unit using the phone’s classic curly cable. We wonder how many of those old school phones are still around to dabble with such a mod…
