Astak has just unveiled yet another e-book reader to the market in the form of the EZ Reader Pocket PRO. This 5″ model aims to “give Amazon’s Kindle a run for its money.” It currently is able to support more than 20 open file formats in addition to DRM PDF files, as well as a text-to-speech feature which reads back documents aloud. Tipping the scales at a mere 6 ounces, you can choose from a similar number of colors. Inside the chassis, the EZ Reader Pocket PRO will be powered by a 400MHz processor, 512MB RAM, an SD memory card slot, an 8-level grayscale e-ink display, a replaceable battery that lasts for up to 8,000 page turns on a full charge and MP3 playback capability. Would be nice to see Astak cram in Wi-Fi connectivity though, but then again we can’t ask for too much with its $199 price point. [Press Release]
