ATX Group will draw experience from its off-board speech recognition technology by bringing in-vehicle, hands-free text messaging via voice. This innovative system will greatly reduce the amount of time the driver interacts with the system when composing a text message on-the-go, helping raise the safety level of the vehicle (as well as those around, naturally). According to Dr. Tom Schalk, ATX vice president of voice technology. “This service is unique in the market because it allows drivers to create and send completely customized text messages exclusively by voice, while on the go.” It would be interesting to see just how far this system will go and be implemented in the long run.
