Corsair has expanded its Extreme Series of SSDs with a new 256GB capacity model, featuring the Indilinx Barefoot controller alongside Samsung MLC NAND flash memory that offers phenomenal read speeds of up to 240MB/s and write speeds up to 170 MB/s. Apart from that, new owners of the 256GB SSD will also be able to take advantage of its 64MB cache memory for an added performance advantage. The entire family of Extreme Series SSDs will feature user-upgradeable firmware that allows one to add new features down the road. Just in case 256GB is out of your budget, there are always 32GB, 64GB and 128GB models to choose from.
