Iomega’s latest NAS effort has resulted in the StorCenter ix4-200d that is able to hold up to a quartet of SATA II 3.5″ drive bays without taking up too much space on your desktop, while offering RAID 5, 10 or JBOD setups and the ability to handle up to 8TB of storage space. Of course, those who are on a tighter budget can settle for 2TB and 4TB models that are available, where each of them feature automatic RAID rebuild and iSCSI block-level access.Connectivity options include a couple of Gigabit Ethernet ports, a trio of USB 2.0 ports and a one-touch transfer button. It might target small businesses, but would also find a place at home with UPnP media streaming compatibility and the option to hook up an USB Bluetooth dongle that lets you transfer files sans wires automatically as long as your Bluetooth-compatible device is within range. The 2TB, 4TB and 8TB models will retail for $699.99, $899.99 and $1,899.99, respectively.
