Motorola Sholes to run on Android 2.0

Motorola’s Sholes smartphone has yet to be released, and we have another rumor that could potentially run on the Android 2.0 operating system. Dubbed “Eclair” by Google, this version of the smartphone operating system could actually make its debut on Motorola’s Sholes instead of any other device, featuring whole-device search as well as voice recognition and text-to-speech. We’re looking forward to see what the Sholes has to offer with its OMAP3430 processor that boasts a pretty similar architecture as that of the chip found in the iPhone 3G S. Word also has it that a version with 3G for UMTS and WCDMA networks is also in the works, although the Sholes won’t be ready until 2010 rolls around.
