OPhone SDK 1.0 for OPhone from China Mobile

China Mobile has rolled out the OPhone SDK 1.0 for OPhone developers, complete with a slogan (but no training), “learn, and create your OPhone Application.” This SDK will also be accompanied by documents and showcases on the website. It is far too early to know whether the OPhone is able to attract a bunch of developers to come up with compelling killer apps for the platform, as there is the issue of educating the general Chinese public to pay for software they use after being so used to pirated copies all this while. We guess the same can be said for a bunch of developing countries as well where piracy is rampant.
