The Touch1600 DVR from Porta System is the first security system of its kind to feature a generous 17″ touchscreen display, where it holds a choice of 500GB or 1TB of storage space within. This network-enabled system will feature remote access support, camera motion detection and object movement detection. There really isn’t any pressing need to include a touchscreen on such a surveillance device since it works more as a gimmick than anything else. There is no word on pricing as at press time, so hopefully this “gimmick” won’t cost organizations an arm and a leg.
