The Portable Interactive Display concept could potentially be a staple among architects and those who are involved in building design, as it allows one to carry building plans wherever they are as long as they’re stored in a digital format. The suitcase form factor will hold all the relevant parts and components required to construct an interactive touch surface on virtually any large and bright table – as long as it is big enough, of course. An ultra short throw projector is able to provide a 60″ projection on virtually any bright surface, and when combined with a vision based tracking system, it enables touch input to be detected on the same surface. The software provided has been specially programmed to capture images and CAD drawings while displaying them on the surface.
