PS3 Slim to be announced at GamesCon?

Reports are surfacing that the cost-reduced PlayStation 3 Slim might be announced at GamesCon in Germany next week (Aug 19th). If that’s true, the string of rumor that started months ago will be put to rest and we’ll finally know how much of a cost reduction Sony can squeeze out of this new design. Sony has to balance their needs for better gross margins and consumers’ desire for a cheaper version.
