RadioShack Netogether in SF this morning

We stopped by “Netogether” in SF (Embarcadero & Washington), a RadioShack event held simultaneously in New York and San Francisco with a live video link. Eliane Fiolet (left, she’s Ubergizmo’s co-founder) and Beth Blecherman (from Techmamas) were explaining the virtues of Netbooks (light, cheap, good enough). It’s amazing to realize that many people had actually not seen one up close. A (happy) young British boy visiting SF with his dad received a free Netbook from RadioShack at the event. A young woman walked away with a Flip that will replace her now defunct tape camcorder.

Eliane and Beth (in SF), along with Gina Huges and Ponzi Pirillo (in NYC) were on a mission for GadgetSpin (a new site that the four founded) to explain consumer tech to the audience. The SF event was broadcasted live in NYC on a giant screen. The event will continue until Saturday. More photos in the full post.

Adios tape camcorder. RadioShack was upgrading bystanders with Flips.
