While the adoption of landlines are dwindling these days no thanks to dirt cheap voice plans for cellphones, that doesn’t mean there isn’t a place for a new product release where house phones are concerned. Sharp’s latest JD-7C1CL/CW cordless phone is different from the rest since it comes with a 7″ touchscreen LCD display can actually be used to access basic phone functions including voice mail, while displaying other features such as a clock, calendar, phonebook with images and even your collection of digital photos. The 800 x 600 resolution ought to be more than enough for most people, while 128MB of internal memory should serve this Sharp offering well. We would like to see future versions incorporate email support though – that’d make it a clear winner.
