Sony Reader Daily Edition rolled out

Sony has just released its Reader Daily Edition, a wireless model that boasts 3G connectivity. The Daily Edition is the latest in its new line of Reader products, accompanying the Reader Pocket Edition and the Reader Touch Edition that were announced earlier in August. The Reader Pocket Edition will come with a 5″ electronic paper display crammed into a stylish chassis, coming in colors such as navy blue, rose and silver while retailing for $199. As for the Reader Touch Edition, that model will come with a menu-driven 6″ touchscreen panel for easier navigation, where you can choose from red, black or silver colors at $299 a pop. Last but not least is the main event – the Reader Daily Edition that lets you stay connected wirelessly through AT&T’s 3G mobile broadband network to Sony’s eBook store, giving you the opportunity to browse, purchase and download books and newspapers alike as long as there is a decent connection without having to fork out a single cent in monthly fees or transaction charges. It boasts a 7″ wide touchscreen display, a high contrast ratio with 16 levels of grayscale, an attractive yet durable aluminum body with an integrated cover. Sony will sell this for approximately $399. [Press Release]
