
Sony engineers must have been pretty busy lately, having announced that they will be unleashing five Blu-ray recorders and a Blu-ray player later next month, where the BDP-S360 will take prominence. This BD player will roll out on the 5th of September, and is tipped to retail for around $320, which is slightly more than the recently announced PS3 Slim, making us wonder yet again who would want to pick up a specific Blu-ray player when you can get the PS3 Slim that does that and plays games while acting as your all-round living room entertainment box simultaneously. A Sony executive has denied that both models will compete against each other directly though, citing that “the purpose of the PS3 is to play games, and that of the BD player is to enjoy movies and the sound quality.” Right…
