It looks like Microsoft will be offering third-party app support for the Zune HD, especially when someone spotted an “apps” menu item in the Zune HD over the weekend demo campaign at Best Buy stores. Good thing for Microsoft the entire cat was not released from the bag just yet since the in-store unit’s Wi-Fi was “blocked,” making it all but impossible to access the segment to check out what kinds of titles are available for download and purchase. We are looking at Microsoft to really give it to Apple this time round with such a store, and healthy competition would bode nothing but good for consumers in the big picture, ensuring that neither party would rest on their laurels.
