AIS introduced even more rugged computers

AIS has further expanded their line of rugged touchscreen computers for those who work in field environments and harsh conditions. These rugged PCs will meet MIL-STD-810F compliance standards, making them shock/vibration and drop resistant apart from humming along nicely even in high and low temperatures. It also boasts water/dust resistance and is rated to IP65 for excellent outdoor performance. Inside the new AIS machines, you will find the following :-

  • Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor
  • Aluminum-magnesium alloy housing with anti-corrosion coating
  • Available in 8.4” and 10.4” sizes
  • Solid State Drive or compact Flash
  • Touch screen technologies are available in resistive and infrared
  • MIL-810F-STD Compliance for shock, vibration, temperature, and drop
  • Transflective passive enhancements by reflecting ambient light back out the display to augment its performance in direct sunlight

No idea on pricing, but they ought to be considerably more expensive compared to a standard notebook. [Press Release]
