
AMD is back at providing great value to the consumer: its new Athlon II X4 brings a level of performance that is comparable to Intel’s Q8xxx series, but at a much lower price point. AMD has designed this processor to make a foray into the mainstream market and frankly, it might very well work. Between this CPU and the low-end/mid-range ATI cards, AMD has quite a compelling offer for PC enthusiasts. Let’s see how the market receives it and how Intel will counter this move at IDF (Intel Developer Conference) next week.
