We would like to thank everyone who followed today’s Apple event live with us. It’s always exciting to capture these events (with Apple, but also others) and to share them live with you all. We know that you can’t wait *one hour* to know what’s going on in there! We’re grateful, so “thanks!”

As expected, Apple has released an iPod with a camera. The cases had given that away for a while. What wasn’t expected is that they would go after the Flip, and if the video quality is there (it should be), Flip is going to feel the pain.

Ubi soft is spinning off a simple game based on its AC franchise. The graphics are simple but it’s a platform game that seems to hold its own. The controls are optimized for iPhone.

Here’s what Apple thinks of the shopping experience on the DS and the PSP… in contrast, Apple uses an all-digital distribution platform, which it says is much better.

It’s clear that the sheer volume of devices out there makes the iphone/ipod touch platform impressive.

That said, I disagree when Apple says that gaming on the PSP or DS doesn’t stack up to the iPhone.The (PSP/DS) games are actually often better in my opinon, but the DS and the PSP aren’t good at anything else, and the PSP is not really pocket-friendly.

We’re going over all the reasons why the iPod touch is great. Among them: the iPod is also a small “computer”. The email+web capabilities are being praised. It’s hard to contradict them on that. It is still the best mobile web experience out there.

Other reason: there’s a TON of apps.

Call it metadata if you want, but hardcore fans are going to be happy about this. There is some content that is exclusive to iTunes. “Ouch” for the competition.

A wishlist has been added (good!) and shared to Facebook or other social services.

It’s pretty smart, that could be a gift idea and this will boost the revenues while making the search easier.

It is possible to stream music from another computer, but also simply copy the tracks.

It’s not really complicated, but the question is: wouldn’t that be better to get a centralized server? May be, but it’s also more complicated to setup and use. In the end, duplication might not be so bad, when storage is cheap.

Managing the phone from a computer is comfy. That’s particularely true when you have enouh storage to add a bunch of stuff in it.

Being able to manage the apps from iTunes 9 seems really handy.

It is possible to see unique content from another computer as well. It makes the selection easier when you want to copy files over.

That works in iTunes, obviously.
