It seems as though the long awaited Garmin Asus nüvifone G60 will be making its way to the market later this October for $299 after you send in a $100 mail-in rebate and settle for a 2-year contract. Just to refresh your memory, this Linux-based smartphone will come with 3G connectivity, an integrated Garmin GPS, a 3.5″ touchscreen display and a 3-megapixel camera to get you started. It would be interesting to see how the battery life will hold up assuming all the features are turned on, but with GPS navigation being a staple on most higher end phones these days, Garmin and Asus might have lost the first mover advantage in this aspect here.
