GuidePoint Connect hands-free Bluetooth kit

The GuidePoint Connect hands-free Bluetooth kit has some pretty high expectations to live up to considering what was touted in the press release, claiming that it is nothing short of “OnStar for everyone else.” The GuidePoint Connect will offer emergency dispatch and roadside assistance services in addition to letting you chat while having two hands on the wheel. The former will be connected to Guidepoint’s own response centers, while the latter has the ability to hook up with GuidePoint’s optional GPS tracking device for location-based services. Navigation and interface has been simplified to the very basics, where only four buttons are used on the main unit to handle calls while another two are used for emergency services. It will cost you $399 to pick this up, where it will be accompanied by a free emergency dispatch service and a one-year subscription to the GuidePoint Silver service. [Press Release]
