Kuki is a Linux distribution that was specially developed for Acer Aspire One’s line of netbooks, and is currently in version 2.8 at time of publishing. This build was specially developed on a configured version of the Linux 2.6.31-RC7 kernel with built in support for 3G drivers, fan control, the Intel video driver, alongside the rest of the Aspire One’s hardware. It will base its user interface on Xfce, which is basically a lightweight Linux desktop environment which won’t hog up a whole lot of system resources, and neither will it gobble up hard drive space on your netbook. Applications that come with Kuki 2.8 include a Midori web browser, the Mplayer media player, Pidgin instant messenger, Claws mail and Orange calendar.
