Logitec (yeah, that’s correct) made this Logitec LIC-iREC03P microphone recorder module that will turn your iPod or iPhone into a music recording machine. Your apple device must be running on OS 3.0 but it will record PCM WAV files so there is no compression. The XY microphone are not adjustable, however the automatic gain control and attenuation are adjustable. Retails for $109
