Netgear Digital Entertainer Live

Netgear’s latest set-top box would be their Digital Entertainer Live that offers 720p HD support although it lacks a hard drive and built-in wireless connectivity, requiring you to still remain tethered to a wired lifestyle through the use of an Ethernet cable. If you’re OK with that, then the Digital Entertainer Live ought to be a pretty good servant, featuring built-in support for YouTube, pay-per-view movies from CinemaNow and live internet TV via VuNow. It does look like a router at first glance, and will come with a 100Mbps network link and a couple of USB ports for external storage, one HDMI output for digital and one RCA for analog sources. Those who want to hook up an optional $40 USB adapter for 802.11n Wi-Fi connectivity can also do so. Netgear has slapped a $150 price point for the Digital Entertainer Live.
