Nokia’s Braille Reader was just released albeit in beta mode, where it will provide the blind and visually impaired users to read SMS. Needless to say, this will work on touchscreen phones only, where it will rely on the Braille alphabet while leveraging on a handset’s tactile feedback. The Nokia Braille Reader is compatible with a selected band of Nokia handsets that run on the S60 5th Edition operating system, including the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, Nokia N97, Nokia N97 mini, Nokia 5530, Nokia 5230 and Nokia X6.
