[Nokia World] Nokia has been showing a prototype device that has a 3D stereo display. It uses a different image for the left and right eye and does not require wearing special glasses. Nokia says that it has been experimenting “for years” with the concept, but does not predict when or if stereo 3D would make it into a product.
Other people, including KDDI, have looked into making stereo 3D mobile devices as well, but the display technology isn’t good enough and outside video content and gaming, there is not a lot of applications. If anything such advances will show up in your living room and on your computer before going into your pocket.
