Philips SoundBar with Ambisound

Not just any bar, but a SoundBar – the Philips SoundBar with Ambisound made its debut at IFA Berlin 2009, where it aims to offer a complete home theater system without taking up too much space in the process. This new device will boast a built-in Blu-ray Disc player which can be complemented by an optional dock for iPod, all in a single configuration. Its patented Ambisound technology has also been improved, where the HD speakers were rearranged in order for the SoundBar to deliver a wider soundstage and sweet spot for a more engaging movie watching experience. You also get the following features with each purchase :-

  • DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD for high fidelity 7.1 surround sound
  • FullSound to bring CD listening experience to compressed MP3 music
  • Clear Voice for more audible vocals in movies and music
  • Proprietary DoubleBASS for fuller and deeper bass

No word on pricing, but you can opt for either a black or white version, known by their model numbers HTS8160B and HTS8161B, respectively. [PDF Press Release]
