PS3 Firmware 3.00 shorts controllers

Word is going around that the recently released firmware upgrade version 3.00 has resulted in a flurry of controller connection issues for owners of the PS3, especially those who are using the DualShock3 model CECHZC2H (Ceramic White) as they can’t even connect to the console at all. Even when turned on, the controller LEDs for ports 1 and 2 activate despite the controller being rendered no better than a paperweight. Some of the homebrew troubleshooting efforts include resetting the controller or plugging it straight into the console through USB. Some have even whispered that firmware update 3.00 will lock out knockoff controllers, which is pretty devious if you ask us.
