
Sager’s NP8690 is one of the first few gaming notebooks that will come with the new Intel Core i7 Mobile processor within, where it is touted to be “the world’s most powerful 15.6? gaming notebook”. Apart from a choice of the Intel Core i7-720QM, i7-820QM or i7-920XM processors within, you will also benefit from other high-end specifications including an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280M 1GB video card, a maximum of 8GB of DDR3 1,333MHz RAM, up to 500GB of hard drive space and a choice between a DVD burner or Blu-ray combo drive. Depending on your budget, you can also select between a 1,920 × 1,080 and 1,600 × 900 resolution display, where both of them will feature an LED backlight. Other features to round it off include a 2-megapixel webcam, Wi-Fi connectivity, Gigabit LAN, HDMI and DVI output, a quartet of USB 2.0 ports, an eSATA port, FireWire, a fingerprint reader, a 7-in-1 memory card reader and an ExpressCard slot. Shipping commences later this October, where prices start from a hefty $1,789 upwards.
