Sony has announced their latest BRAVIA ZX5 today, offering a wireless HDTV to the masses in Japan that runs on the 60GHz spectrum in order to ferry content from a separate TV Station hub to the set. This is more efficient compared to its older ZX1 as it can handle up to 1080p video at 60 frames per second compared to its predecessor’s 1080i picture. Other technologies crammed into the BRAVIA ZX5 include a 240Hz LED-backlit panel, a quartet of HDMI ports, a couple of D5 (component equivalent) and RCA jacks, S-Video and VGA ports. Ethernet connectivity allows one to enjoy DLNA media sharing over a local network and direct-to-TV Internet video streaming. Expect the ZX5 to come in 46″ and 52″ sizes this November 20th, retailing for $4,937 and $5,581, respectively.
