Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X2 could very well be the last Windows Mobile-powered smartphone from the company (according to According to Eldar Murtazin from Mobile-review), despite rumors swirling around that the company has one last Windows Mobile phone up its sleeves which might not see the light of day eventually. The whole reason for dropping support for the Windows Mobile platform would be a poor sales forecast, which means Sony Ericsson can only turn to two viable alternatives at this point in time – Android and/or Symbian S60. Is this the death knell for Windows Mobile, and will other manufacturers (especially HTC) follow suit?
