Space foosball table

Who would have thought that the foosball table would evolve into what you see here, created by boffins at the Ewha Women’s University in Korea, where it will replace spinning men on a stick as well as the ball with physics-powered graphics. Infrared sensors will track where the handles are, while the software is quick enough to discover just where and when the players spin on the virtual soccer field in a no less realistic manner than the actual thing. Unfortunately, this foosball table is not going to see action anytime soon since it was developed to demonstrate the team’s physics engine, but who knows – an angel invesotr might be interested enough in this to market it to the ultra rich as their latest toy.
