Novothink’s Surge iPod touch case is one to look out for – it comes not only in an attractive design, it also boasts integrated solar panels to juice up the device. Under the full strength of the sun, the Surge is touted to output 5.5V at 100 mAh, while the integrated 1500 mAh lithium-ion polymer battery is able to go one-fifth further compared to what the iPod’s internal battery can offer. Just in case it is perpetually cloudy for the day, you can always plug in the Surge via USB, where a quartet of LEDs will indicate the current battery status. Retailing for $70 a pop, the Surge will come in green, pink, blue and black colors as it ships later this month. Expect an iPhone variant to come out shortly thereafter.
