Toshiba has plans to show off its first TV that will boast an embedded Cell processor that is capable of handling upscaling and DVR tasks, but unfortunately, won’t be able to play PlayStation 3 games – we think that might have been a killer feature if included. It will see action at CEATEC Japan which is happening early next month, where Toshiba will showcase the Cell’s massive computational power to drive DVR functions and provide real-time upscaling of standard-definition content, alongside upscaling high-definition content to 4,000 by 2,000-pixel resolution without missing a beat.
