Most of you have probably already read of U2’s sponsorship by RIM, which is perfectly fine. That being said, you do have to feel for RIM a bit when the news breaks that Palm’s largest investor, Elevation Partners, grabbed another 2.2 million shares of palm for a total of $35 million, and in total owns about 42% of the company. That doesn’t sound like a big deal, until you notice that Elevation Partners’ managing director and co-founder is Paul David Hewson, whom you probably know better as Bono. Nothing scandalous to be honest, but still, you have to admit it probably feels a bit like being kicked between the teeth.
