VIA Technologies has outdone themselves this time round with a fanless, Pico-ITX motherboard in the Epia P720 system that is able to offer 1080p HD video streams without missing a beat. Within the chassis, it will run on a 1GHz VIA Eden ULV processor, coupled with the new Via VX855 media processor alongside a wide range of I/O connections as well as an optional P720-A carrier board. It can hold up to 2GB of DDR2 RAM, while you get to hook up a SATA hard drive for your storage needs. There is no word on pricing, availability or operating system (OS) support information of the VIA Epia P720 at press time, but it is most likely this will play nice with the regular x86 OSes including Linux and Windows.
