Apple Remote takes on aluminum chassis

Apart from the slew of Apple MacBook and iMac updates, we also bring you news of the Apple Remote device that features buttons which resemble those on the iPod shuffle, boasting circular controls, menu and play buttons in black color. As for the play button, it has also been transported from the center of the circle to just below it. The back enclosure provides easy access to the battery, making it easier to replace the device’s power supply. It will take anywhere from two weeks to a month to ship this $19 device. The Apple Remote is backwards compatible with other products that functioned with the previous Apple Remote. Basically, anything introduced in 2005 and later that comes with an integrated IR receiver ought to play nice with the new Apple Remote.
