It’s good to see people try and do their part of the environment with recycling and such. Next up we have an ecoATM which also wants to do its small part to help the environment of this earth. By offering folks redeemable in store credit, at least it offers to reward folks who take the extra step to help the environment. Just pop your old phone in there, identify it, and the machine will check for signs of wear. You’ll get a quotation on the spot, and if the phone is not redeemable for anything, you can still have it recycled, and they’ll plant a tree on your behalf. Not too shabby eh? The first unit was installed in a furniture store on Omaha, and despite it not being in a Best Buy or Wal-Mart, it did gobble up 20 phones on its first day, which isn’t too bad.
