The Nintendo DS could soon be used to cater to folks who love reading – what with Electronic Arts announcing the development of FLIPS, a new book range targeting that console. FLIPS will cater to kids of all ages, helping them pick up the habit of reading on something they’re already familiar with, making us wonder whether parents will now pick up the DS for their little ones knowing they have one less excuse not to. EA has partnered with a range of the UK’s leading publishers of children’s books and magazines, offering modern classic titles from authors including (but not limited to) Cathy Cassidy, Eoin Colfer and Enid Blyton, as well as the popular boys series, ‘Too Ghoul for School’ to the DS. Individual FLIPS title will come with six to eight books, sold for £24.99, when it hits the UK this coming December 4th. [Press Release]
