Sweden’s .se sites were down for about one hour yesterday evening when a buggy update script was used. The exact reason is still being investigated, but it basically shows that the domain name resolution and the routing system are the weak point of the internet. Domain name serving fixes can take a while to propagate, and hours after the fix, many users were still unable to access their favorite sites.
