It looks like the pricing scheme of apps on Apple’s App Store should see some changes soon as Apple has announced that they will be allowing free apps to enable in-app purchases. With that update, developers will certainly be scambling to give their apps away as a method to get users to install, and charge them for content (such as add-ons, items, etc) later. It’s a business model that is already viable in other arena’s, so it will certainly be interesting to see how this affects the App Store.
