We told you that Toshiba has launched interesting laptops recently, but it turns out that the company has taken the step of not installing any crapware* (except anti-viruses and may be a couple of other things) on the new computers. That’s a welcome change of policy because not only most of the software was useless, but it was running in the background and reminding us to get the paid version on a regular basis. Hopefully more PC makers will follow because that scores big points with us.
*Crapware refers to all the software from “partners” that comes usually pre-installed on a laptop. That includes anti-virus, but also pc maintenance and entertainment software, often in trial versions.
