
Just when you thought that the OLPC XO laptop had the power requirements of a sloth in hibernation, along comes a method to keep the device juiced while you work – via pedal power. OLPC Afghanistan came up with such a prototype that connects a hand crank to a pedal, giving you the opportunity to have both a physical and mental workout at your desk. Guess those living in that part of the world will find this useful considering the number of sorties that are flown in through the USAF whenever intelligence detects Osama bin Laden making a trip back to his home town, resulting in a high risk of power outages.
