Sony Stereo 3D on PlayStation 3, Hands-On

CEATEC 2009] Sony was showing stereo 3d on the PS3. I looked at a demo KillZone 2 (the intro) and it was quite interesting to watch. It looks like something that that would be done in the driver on a PC (that’s how it works on many games) but PS3 developers code down to the metal, so additional work might be required per title, I’m just not sure for now (I’ll try to dig). The more interesting part was how Sony made the overall user PS3 interface “3D” in a functional way. Buttons are visibly pushed up and down and background effects are now literally in the background. It’s well done and worth taking a look at. This requires glasses.
