Sony has just made official their Vaio X Series of notebooks, and hopefully the self-proclaimed “world’s lightest notebook” will be able to live up to its billing. We do know that specifications-wise, this is pretty decent, boasting an 11.1″ LED backlight display alongside a battery life of up to 14 hours under selected operating conditions. The touchpad will also boast multi-touch functionality just in case you’re suffering a case of iPhone withdrawal at the office. Each X Series notebook will ship with a SSD drive while running on Windows 7 Home Premium. Prices start from $1,499 upwards.
