iPhone owners who want an updated dose of Twitter will certainly be jumping for joy that the updated version of Tweetie for the iPhone has hit the App Store. Called Tweetie 2, it is completely rewritten with the iPhone OS 3.0 software development kit, thus taking advantage of all the performance gains of the new OS. There is also a feature called “Nearby”, which launches a map that shows the nearby folks on Twitter, and you’ll be able to check out their username and tweet. The app is going for $2.99, and you’ll have to purchase it again even if you have already bought Tweetie, but considering the improvements, it sounds like a fair deal.
