The maker of the A-Pod hexapod robot must have been influenced by the presence of an ant, where it will comprise of a 2 DOF abdomen (tail), a 3 DOF head and large mandibles to boot. Half a dozen legs contain 3 DOF each, where it will also be accompanied by another 25 servos to make it move around in a rather creepy manner. Not too sure what practical use this is for – to kill off robot aphids?
