The car2go program has finally been launched in Austin, Texas. In case you’re wondering what car2go is about, it’s basically having a certain number of smart fortwo vehicles made available 24/7 within the city to the people. When it was launched back in Germany in 2008, it was quite successful, so let’s see whether it can duplicate that success in the US. Rates for the car are charged based on time, not distance, and the rates are all-inclusive, with the cost of fuel, maintenance and insurance already taken care of.
