
China Unicom has confirmed that it will be launching the UPhone, which should be fairly similar to China Mobile’s Android-powered OPhone. The UPhone will be running a customized version of the Android OS, dubbed UniPlus. Aside from that, it will also boast its own app store, which is fast becoming the trend in the mobile scene. Sometimes we do sit back and wonder if the operators in China are able to come up with more interesting names instead of the OPhone and UPhone. If that’s all they’re going to stick to, we can give you the list of future phones coming from China: APhone, BPhone, and all the way until ZPhone.
