
While a just a few short days ago Gameloft announced that they were significantly cutting back on the Android platform, probably because it doesn’t seem as lucrative as Apple’s AppStore at the moment. Now surprisingly Gameloft has released a press statement saying that they will be supporting the 2nd generation of Android phones. They’re obviously talking about phones like the Motorola Droid and Sony Ericsson’s XPERIA X10. Whatever their reasons behind it, we’re just happy to have them working on stuff for Android again.

Android Android is mobile operating system from Google. The software was originally built by a company called Android Inc, that was purchased by Google in 2005. From its modest debuts, Android has become a powerhouse that powers not only smartphones and tablet, but a host of other less high-profile devices and gadgets. Although Android is not a community-driven project, Google does release the source code as open-source under the Apache license.
